We look at what may be driving their challenges — things like nutrient gaps, gut dysfunction, sleep dysregulation, poor mineral status, nervous system overload. Then we give you a personalised written plan that actually fits your family.

HTMA is a simple at-home hair test that looks at mineral patterns and possible heavy metal exposure. 

It is often one of the first functional tests I consider for children, as minerals can play an important role in sleep, mood, focus, gut function, sensory tolerance and nervous system regulation. It may be especially helpful for children with sleep issues, anxiety, sensory sensitivities, hyperactivity, gut symptoms, restricted eating or picky eating. 

The test is non-invasive, collected at home, and reviewed as part of your program where clinically appropriate. Add now, or feel free to discuss whether it’s right for your child during your consult.

Chantel Ryan — Naturopath, Health Coach & Functional Health Practitioner
I'm Chantel, the naturopath and functional health practitioner behind Real Functional Health. I test, don't guess — and I build plans around what's actually driving your symptoms, not what's easiest to prescribe. 

Most of my work is with women 40+ who are tired, wired and carrying a lot. Through that work, I kept noticing how many of them were also trying to support a neurodivergent or highly sensitive child at the same time. 

This program grew from my own family experience, my clinical work, and supporting my sister Sharney and her daughter. I also have a child with sensory and spectrum-like traits — so I know this advice needs to be practical and realistic for real families.

SAFETY NOTE

This works alongside your child's existing care team.

The Calm Kids Functional Reset provides naturopathic and functional wellness support. It does not diagnose, treat, cure or prevent ADHD, autism, anxiety or any medical condition. 


It is designed to work alongside your child’s existing GP, paediatrician, psychiatrist, psychologist, OT, speech therapist, dietitian and allied health team — not replace them. 


 If your child is currently taking medication, or you are exploring medication options, naturopathic support can still be a helpful complementary layer by supporting foundations such as sleep, gut health, nutrition, bowels, nutrient status and nervous system regulation. We never recommend stopping or changing prescribed medication without guidance from your child’s prescribing doctor.
